Bruce and Joe each come to this podcast with from different perspectives, but with the same goal in mind:
Continuing to improve themselves (and their listeners) each week with discussion about issues relevant and relatable to the lives of professional men & women.
The two originally met in 2010 when Joe served as an engineer on Bruce’s weekly radio show about the Chattanooga residential housing market. It wasn’t long before the two struck up an off-air friendly after realizing the sheer number of similarities between them as men, despite their age and professional differences (mortgage broker v. radio personality, respectively.)
This sparked the idea that other men, and women, may be feeling alone in their quest for personal improvement and accountability when they in fact have others just like them going through the same daily struggles: being better.
Bruce Dodd has spent that last 25+ years building people and businesses. He has led teams of more than 700 people and faced the opportunities and challenges of start-ups. Over the years and through the experiences he has learned 3 key things:
1. Leadership matters
2. Growth (personal and professional) matters
3. Being the best one can be matters!
So whether it is working with developmental teams in the financial service industry, leading a transition team, or something a little more fun, like formulating and hosting his own radio show, Bruce has consistently tried to put into practice the principals he helps others discover.
“The Gentleman” Joe Varner has spent the last 19 years as co-host of WGOW’s Sport Talk. He is an award – winning host with plenty of opinions.
